These Painted MDF numbers can take on the look of vintage Victorian numbers or modern bold numbers. Painted MDF wood numbers have a smooth matte acrylic finish on the sides and face of the craft number. The painted MDF Number can be ordered to make a bold statement because the material is thick and can be routed to make a sophisticated rounded or beveled edge to really make it look like a Victorian number or any other number style desired.
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and is an engineered wood made from small wood fibers and pressed together to make a dense composite that is excellent for indoor sign number and craft numbers. The advantage of MDF over our unpainted Baltic Birch Plywood is the availability of thicker material and an optional routed edge for extra dimension and style. Because the decorative numbers are made from a non-outdoor rated wood, we do not recommend using these decorative house numbers on surfaces that endure direct weather and are best used as a house number sign, or door numbers that are are primed, painted and sealed; undercover or indoors.
Our painted MDF numbers do not come with any mounting hardware. Double sided mounting tape is available for purchase when submitting your order. Our removable spray adhesive is not advised for this product. If your number is taller than 10 inches, we recommend purchasing framing hardware locally and attaching it to the back of the number. Colors may vary from your screen due to monitor displays, please contact us to request paint swatches.

The letter height you order is based on the uppercase letter "A" of the font you specify. Depending on the font, some uppercase/lowercase letters may be shorter or taller than the height you specify on the order form so they will look proportionate to each other. Therefore, you may receive some of your lettering in different dimensions than the letter height ordered. If all lettering is ordered in lower case, we still scale the lettering to an uppercase "A" which will make most of the letters smaller than what was ordered. Please contact us if you would like to size your lettering differently from our standards. Please see examples below
Note: All Letters in the 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 inch thickness are cut with a laser which leaves a dark smooth edge as shown above. The edge can be painted over. The 1/2 and 3/4 thick lettering are cut with a computer controlled router and then the edges are sanded smooth before painting.
