Turn a plain wooden letter into a whimsical peppermint candy monogram wreath!
What you will need:
- Unpainted Baltic Birch wooden letters, I used the letter M in the Monotype Corsiva font at 12 inches tall by 1/4 inch thick.
- Red and white peppermint candies, approximately 80-100
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Red ribbon
- White paint
- Foam paint brush
- Clear spray paint
Start: Collect Your MaterialsAlthough this project is simple you may want to put down some newspaper to protect your table from the white paint and hot glue.
Step 1: Paint your Letter WhiteUse the white paint and foam brush to paint the front and sides of your letter. Set aside and allow to dry.
Step 2: Applying the Peppermint CandiesUnwrap all of your peppermint candies. Then, starting at one end use the hot glue to affix each candy in place. Completely cover the face of the letter with the candies.
Step 3: Protective Clear CoatUse the clear spray paint to coat the front and sides of the letter. This will keep it from attracting bugs and from melting if it gets wet.
Step 4: Add the RibbonOnce the protective clear coat has dried, turn the letter over. Cut two pieces of ribbon approximately 14-16 inches long. Use the hot glue to attach the ribbons to the back of the letter. Tie the two loose ends of the ribbon together and create a bow.
Done!Your whimiscial peppermint monogram wreath is now complete. Hang and enjoy!
